Lake Villa Junk Pickup: Photo, Price, Gone

The whole thing takes four steps. You snap a picture of the pile, the room or the one item and text it to (224) 944-8652. Back comes a single flat price. You pick a time. The crew shows up, carries it out from wherever it sits, sweeps the spot and drives it away. Only the first step is yours.

We're on the road Monday through Saturday from 7am to 7pm, with Sunday by appointment. Same-day and next-day slots are open more often than people expect. And you don't need to take a day off work. Leave the garage door up or tell us where the stuff is, and it'll be gone when you get home.

What Lake Villa Homes Send Out the Door

Housing in Lake Villa is a mix. Around Cedar Lake and near the old downtown by the Metra station you find older houses and former summer cottages, some on small lots with yards running down to the water. Farther out there are subdivisions with two-story homes, finished basements and attached garages. The lots open up as you head toward Deep Lake.

Each kind fills up its own way. The older places have crawl spaces and enclosed porches packed with lake gear and hand-me-down furniture. The subdivision homes have basements full of kid stuff, a treadmill, an old sectional and a wall of moving boxes that never got unpacked. Either way, it's too big for the cart and too much for a weekend. We also run junk hauling next door in Lindenhurst and pickups on the Sand Lake side in Venetian Village.

Basement Cleanouts and Move-Out Hauling in Lake Villa

Finished basements are where furniture goes to retire. The sectional that didn't fit the new living room. The entertainment center built for a TV nobody makes anymore. The futon, the bar stools, the desk from a home office that moved upstairs. All of it came down the stairs once, and all of it can go back up. Our basement cleanout crew does stairs every working day, and there's no stairs fee.

Moving is the other big one. Closing dates don't wait, and the last load is always the stuff nobody wants to take along. If you're selling a place in Lake Villa or clearing a rental between tenants, a move-out haul empties what's left so the rooms are bare and swept for the walk-through. We don't move your things to the new house. We take the things that aren't going.

Mattress, TV and Electronics Removal for Lake Villa Households

A mattress is the item people get stuck on most. It doesn't fit in a car, it flops, and most haulers limit bulk items or charge for them. We take mattresses and box springs in any size, from any floor. Getting rid of an old mattress is a one-photo quote.

Electronics are the other sticking point. Illinois doesn't allow TVs, computers or other electronics in the landfill, so they can't just go in the bin. We pick them up and bring them to an electronics recycler. If you've got a closet of dead laptops and a big flat screen with a cracked panel, TV and e-waste pickup handles the lot in one stop.

Hot Tubs, Playsets and Backyard Junk Around Cedar Lake and Deep Lake

Backyards here work hard. Lake lots and subdivision lots both end up with big things that outlive their use. A spa that hasn't held water in years. A wooden swing set nobody climbs anymore. A trampoline that's lost half its springs. An above-ground pool with a split liner. A shed leaning into the fence.

Every one of those can go on the truck. Hot tub and spa haul-away is one of the heavier jobs, and on a sloped lake lot it takes some planning, so send a couple of photos showing the tub and the path out to the street. It helps to have it drained and disconnected ahead of time. Brush, limbs and other yard waste can ride on the same load.

Flat Pricing by Truck Space in Lake Villa

Our price is tied to one thing: how much of the truck your load fills. Quarter truck, half truck, three-quarter truck, full truck. A mattress set and a TV land at the small end. A whole basement lands at the big end. You'll know which before we come, because you see the number by text and say yes first.

Everything is folded in. The crew's labor, the loading, the sweep-up, the disposal. We don't bill by the hour, and we don't tack on fuel, stairs or weight. Lake Villa gets no distance charge, same as every other Lake County town. A quote costs you nothing. Most are done from a photo, and for the big jobs someone stops by for a free look that takes about 15 minutes. See how our volume pricing is set up for the details.

After the Truck Leaves Lake Villa: Donation, Recycling and the No-Go List

Once it's on the truck, the load gets split up. Good furniture and household items head to donation. Metal, including appliances once any refrigerant has been recovered, goes to scrap recycling. Electronics are dropped off with an electronics recycler. A licensed transfer station takes whatever is left.

There are a handful of things we have to leave behind. Paint that's still wet, solvents, motor oil, gasoline and propane tanks are out, and so are asbestos, ammunition and medical waste. Paint and chemicals belong with SWALCO, the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County, which holds household chemical waste collection for residents of the county.

Lake Villa Junk Removal Questions

Can you get a couch out of a walk-out basement on a sloped lot?

Yes. Walk-outs are often easier than interior stairs, since the couch can leave through the lower door. The slope just means a longer, steeper carry to the truck, and that's on us. Send a photo of the couch and one of the yard so we can plan the route. The price doesn't go up for the hill.

Do I need to be home for a pickup in Lake Villa?

No. Plenty of people set it up from work. Agree to the price by text, tell us where the items are and how we reach them, and leave the garage or gate open if that's the way in. The crew loads up, sweeps the area and heads out. You come home to the empty space.

How is the price figured if I only have a few things?

The same way as a big load, just smaller. A few items usually fall in the quarter-truck range. Text a photo of everything that's going and we'll send one number that covers labor, loading, sweep-up and disposal. If you add or remove something later, we adjust the price before the work starts, not after.

We're closing on our house soon. Can you come before then?

Most likely. Same-day and next-day slots are often open, and we work Monday through Saturday from 7am to 7pm, with Sunday by appointment. Send photos of what's left in the house, garage and yard as soon as you know. Getting the price settled early leaves you room to pick a day ahead of the walk-through.

Will you take a hot tub that's set into a deck?

Send a few photos first, showing the tub, the deck around it and the path to the street. We'll tell you plainly what we can do and give you one flat price before anything starts. Hot tubs and spas are on our regular list, and old decking can go on the truck as remodeling debris if it's coming out too.

What happens to the old TVs you pick up?

Every one of them is taken to an electronics recycler. Illinois bans TVs, computers and other electronics from landfills, so they're kept apart from the rest of the load from the start. That goes for flat screens, old tube sets, monitors and the box of cords and dead devices that tends to sit next to them.

Is there a travel charge from Waukegan to Lake Villa?

No. We're based in Waukegan and we cover every town in Lake County without adding anything for the drive. Your price comes from the amount of truck space the load takes. There's no fuel surcharge and no hourly clock running while we're on Route 83 or Grand Avenue getting to you.

Can you take leftover paint and garage chemicals?

Not those. Wet paint, solvents, motor oil, gasoline and propane tanks stay off our truck. SWALCO, the county's solid waste agency, runs household chemical waste collection for Lake County residents, and that's where they belong. Set them to one side and we'll haul the shelving, tools, boxes and everything else around them.
