What Forest Lake Homes Send to the Truck
Forest Lake began as a summer cottage community around its lake. Over the years those cottages got winterized, added onto, or replaced with bigger houses. So one street can have a small original cottage next to a much newer two-story.
The original cottages are short on storage, so the overflow lands in sheds, lofts and attics. The newer houses have the storage and use every inch of it. Either way the list looks alike: furniture that came with the house, mattresses from the guest room, a dead appliance, lake toys, and boxes. Always boxes.
Forest Lake Garage and Attic Cleanouts
A garage in a lake community is rarely just a garage. It's the boathouse, the workshop and the storage unit. When it gets to where you're parking outside all winter, a garage cleanout gets it back. We pull everything you don't want, leave what you marked to keep, and sweep.
Attics are the other spot. Cottage attics are low and hot, reached by a hatch or a narrow stair. Nobody wants to carry boxes out of there in July. Our attic junk removal crew does, and the climb doesn't cost extra.
Remodeling and Construction Debris Pickup in Forest Lake
Old cottages get remodeled all the time. Kitchens gutted. Porches enclosed. Paneling ripped out. On a small wooded lot with a tight street out front, there's often no good place for a dumpster to sit.
Dumpster rental isn't something we offer. We do construction debris hauling by hand. Stack the drywall, lumber, cabinets, flooring and fixtures in the garage or on the drive, and we load it and go. One caution with older houses: we can't take asbestos. If you suspect it in old flooring or pipe wrap, have it tested before anything gets torn out.
How Junk Pickup Works in Unincorporated Forest Lake
Forest Lake isn't its own village. It's unincorporated Lake County with Lake Zurich mailing addresses, so give us the street address and we'll find you. Text a photo to (224) 944-8652, get a flat price, pick a time. Same-day and next-day slots are open often. Hours run 7am to 7pm Monday through Saturday, and Sunday is by appointment.
Streets here are narrow and shaded, and some driveways are short. Let us know where the truck fits. If we have to park a house or two down, we'll carry from there. Nobody needs to be home for it. Leave the garage open or the items outside, and approve the price by text.
Mattress, Furniture and Single-Item Removal
You don't need a truckload to call us. One mattress is enough. So is one couch, one desk or one treadmill. Our mattress pickup service is a good example: we carry it down from the bedroom, load it, and you're done before your coffee's cold.
Furniture in older cottages can be a puzzle, since some of it went in before a wall or a stair was rebuilt. If you think a piece won't come out whole, tell us. Send a photo of the piece and the doorway. We'll sort out how it leaves before we quote it, and the price is still by truck space.
Forest Lake Yard Waste, Brush and Storm Limb Hauling
The name is accurate. Lots here are wooded, and big trees drop big limbs. Add a season of leaves, a cut-down hedge and the old wood pile that went soft, and you've got more than a few yard bags can hold.
Brush and yard waste removal clears it in one stop. Pile it where we can walk to it. We also take the backyard leftovers: a play structure, a rusted fire pit, broken patio furniture, pier boards, an old shed. Illinois doesn't landfill yard waste, so the green stuff rides apart from the household junk.
Forest Lake Junk Removal Prices
We price by the truck space your things fill, in quarters. A quarter of the truck, half of it, three quarters, or a full one. That one number includes labor, loading, sweep-up and disposal. No hourly rate. No fuel surcharge, stairs fee or weight fee.
Forest Lake is at the south end of Lake County and we're based in Waukegan, up north. The drive is ours to worry about. There's no extra charge for distance anywhere in the county. You see the price and approve it before we start. Our truck-space pricing page shows how we size a load.
After the Pickup: Where Forest Lake Junk Goes and What We Skip
We sort what we haul. Good furniture and household items go to donation. Bed frames, shelving and other metal go to a scrap recycler. TVs and computers go to an electronics recycler. Whatever is left over ends up at a licensed transfer station.
What we can't take: asbestos, wet paint, solvents, gasoline, motor oil, propane tanks, ammunition and medical waste. SWALCO runs household chemical waste collection for Lake County residents, and that's where the paint and oil should go. We don't do dumpster rental, building demolition, moving or cleaning. For the towns around you, see junk removal in Lake Zurich or our Kildeer page.
