Island Lake Junk Removal for Lake Houses, Ranches and Everything Between
Island Lake started as a lake community, and you can still see it in the houses near the water. Small lots. Low rooflines. Additions built onto additions. Go a few blocks out and it turns into ranches and two-stories, with newer subdivisions toward the edges of the village.
Small houses don't have much storage, so the junk ends up in sheds, under decks and in one-car garages stacked to the door. That's most of our work here. People call when they can't get to the lawn mower anymore.
Estate and Whole-House Cleanouts in Island Lake
Some of these lake houses have been in one family for a long time. When a parent moves to assisted living or passes away, somebody has to deal with a house that hasn't been emptied in decades. Usually that somebody lives a long drive away and has a week off to do it.
Our estate cleanout crew takes that weight off. Walk through first and pull what the family wants. Then we clear room by room: furniture, clothes, kitchen, basement, shed. Usable things go to donation. You don't have to be there while we work.
Garage and Shed Junk Removal Near the Water
Lake life makes its own kind of clutter. Rafts that don't hold air. A paddle with no boat. Fishing gear, ice augers, tangled Christmas lights, and three grills in different stages of rust. It all lands in the garage.
Garage cleanout help is simple. Pull out what you're keeping, or put tape on it. We take the rest, haul off the junk shelving if you want it gone, and sweep the slab.
Old furniture stored out there goes too. Our furniture pickup covers the dresser with the swollen drawers and the couch the mice found.
Hot Tub, Playset and TV Removal in Island Lake
Backyards near the lake are small, and a dead hot tub takes up a big piece of one. Same for a trampoline with a torn mat or a swing set nobody's used since the kids left. We haul all of it. For hot tub and spa removal, drain it and kill the power before we come, and show us the gate in your photo so we know the way out.
Inside the house, the big one is the old TV. The heavy tube set in the basement or the projection TV in the family room. Illinois doesn't allow electronics in landfills, so the trash won't take it. TV and electronics recycling pickup gets it out of the house and to an electronics recycler.
How Island Lake Junk Removal Is Priced
One flat price, set by how much of the truck you fill. A quarter, a half, three quarters, or all of it. The crew, the loading, the sweep-up and the disposal are in that price. Nothing gets added for stairs, weight, fuel or time.
Because the village is split between two counties, here's how distance works. On the Lake County side there's no extra charge for it. If you're on the McHenry side, send the address with your photo and we'll confirm the price by text before the truck heads out. Nothing starts until you've approved it. See the volume pricing breakdown for the tiers.
Booking a Junk Pickup Around Route 176
Route 176 is the main road through the village, and it's how we get here. Text (224) 944-8652 with a photo and the address. You'll get a price back, then you choose a slot. Same-day and next-day times open up often. We work 7am to 7pm, Monday through Saturday, and Sundays by appointment.
On the streets close to the lake, expect us to park at the road and carry. Driveways are short and some are shared. Not a problem, and not a fee. If you won't be home, leave the shed unlocked or the items outside and we'll take it from there.
What We Don't Haul From Island Lake Properties
These can't go on the truck: gasoline, motor oil, propane tanks, wet paint, solvents, asbestos, ammunition and medical waste. Sheds are where we find most of it. Old gas cans. Grill tanks. A shelf of stain and thinner.
Lake County residents can take household chemicals to the collection program SWALCO runs. That's the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County. And a note on what we aren't: we don't rent dumpsters, knock down buildings, run moving trucks or clean houses.
Sorting, Donation and Recycling After Pickup
Once the truck is full, the sorting starts. Furniture and household goods in usable shape go to donation. Scrap metal heads to a recycler. So do electronics, at a recycler set up for them. Yard waste is kept apart, since it isn't allowed in Illinois landfills. Only what's left after all that goes to a licensed transfer station.
We make the same stops in Wauconda to the east and Port Barrington to the south, so if family nearby has a pile too, mention it and we'll quote both.
