Park City Junk Removal Prices, Explained Up Front
Start with the money, since that's the first question anyway. Our price is set by how much of the truck you fill. There are four sizes: quarter, half, three quarters and full.
That one figure pays for the people, the lifting, the loading, the sweep-up afterward and the disposal. We don't run an hourly clock. We don't add fuel, stairs or weight charges. And we don't charge for distance inside Lake County, not that Park City is far. It's a few minutes from where we start the day.
A single recliner sits at the bottom of the scale. A packed home sits at the top. You hear the number and agree to it before we lift anything. For a closer look at the sizes, read how we price by the truckload.
Manufactured Home Junk Pickup in Park City
A big share of Park City's housing is manufactured homes, set in communities with their own lanes. They're good homes with one catch. There's no basement and no attic to hide things in, so the extra stuff ends up in a spare bedroom, under the carport or in a shed out back.
Getting big pieces out takes some thought. Doors are narrow. Hallways are narrower. The front steps or the deck may have gone on after the couch came in. We measure, take the legs off, pull a door off its hinges if we have to, and bring it out slow and careful.
Lanes can be tight and parking is shared, so tell us your lot number and where a truck can pull in without blocking the neighbors. If the community office wants a heads up, let them know we're coming.
Furniture, Mattress and Appliance Removal in Park City
Most stops here are one to five items. A loveseat. A kitchen table with three good chairs. A bed that got replaced. We take single pieces all day and don't need a minimum pile. Start with sofa and furniture removal if that's your situation.
Mattresses and box springs are their own headache, because most haulers limit them or bill for them at the curb. Lean yours against the wall and our mattress pickup takes it from there.
Appliances round it out. Stoves, washers, dryers, dishwashers, water heaters, and fridges and freezers of any size. Anything that holds refrigerant has to have it recovered before scrapping. We see to that through appliance hauling and recycling.
What Fills Up a Park City Home
Park City sits along Belvidere Road and Washington Street, just east of Route 41. Besides the manufactured home communities there are apartments and some single-family houses. None of them have much storage to spare.
So the junk here is everyday stuff, and it adds up quickly. An old TV stand and the TV that went with it. Kids' furniture from two sizes ago. A weight bench in the corner of the bedroom. A stack of totes that moved in with you and never got opened.
When someone moves out, or a home changes hands, there's often a whole household of furniture left inside. We empty it so the next person starts clean. If the home itself is coming out, that part isn't us. We clear contents. We don't demolish or move buildings.
Shed, TV and Exercise Equipment Hauling
The shed behind the home is usually the fullest room on the lot. Folding chairs, a rusted grill, bikes with flat tires, shelving, scrap metal, a busted patio set. We clear the contents, and we take the shed too if you're done with it.
Indoors, two things eat floor space more than anything else. One is the old television. Illinois bans TVs and other electronics from landfills, so send them with us and read about TV and electronics recycling pickup if you have several.
The other is the treadmill or elliptical nobody uses. Those are heavy and wide, and removing a treadmill or home gym is a two-person carry we do all the time.
What We Won't Load in Park City
No junk hauler can take everything, and we'd rather tell you now. Leave these out of the pile:
- Propane tanks, including the small grill size
- Gasoline and motor oil
- Wet paint and solvents
- Asbestos
- Ammunition
- Medical waste
Where Household Chemicals and the Rest of the Load Go
The paint, oil and chemicals we can't carry have a home with SWALCO, the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County. It runs household chemical waste collection for people who live in the county.
Everything we do carry gets sorted after the truck leaves Park City. Good furniture and household items go to donation. Anything metal is pulled out for scrap. Electronics are handed to a recycler that takes them. The leftovers end up at a licensed transfer station.
A few services people ask about that we don't offer: dumpster rental, moving and house cleaning. And if a friend up the road needs the same help, we cover junk pickup in Gurnee and every other Lake County town.
