One Village, Many Lakes: Junk Removal Across Salem Lakes
When the Town of Salem and the Village of Silver Lake merged into one village, the map got simpler and the place stayed the same. It still runs from the Illinois line north past Highway 50, and from the Bristol side west to the Fox River at Wilmot. Highway 83 cuts up through the middle from Antioch.
Inside those lines you've got lake neighborhoods on Camp Lake, Center Lake, Hooker Lake and Rock Lake, farm ground in between and the ski hill at Wilmot. We have separate pages for Trevor and the Silver Lake community if that's your end of the village.
Our truck comes up from Lake County, Illinois. Waukegan is home base, and Highway 83 out of Antioch is our usual way across the state line.
What It Costs to Haul Junk in Salem Lakes
Let's get the money question out of the way. You're charged for space on the truck, not for time. Your load is a quarter truck, a half, three quarters or a full one. That price already has the lifting, loading, sweeping and disposal in it.
You won't see an hourly rate, a fuel surcharge, a stairs fee or a weight fee. And since you're on the Wisconsin side, the price gets confirmed by text before the truck leaves. You approve it before the crew touches anything. The truck-load pricing guide explains each size.
Most quotes come from photos sent to (224) 944-8652. If you're clearing a whole house or a property with outbuildings, we'll come look at it in person for free. That takes about 15 minutes.
Estate Cleanouts for Salem Lakes Families
When a house has been in one family for decades, everything is still in it. The good china and the broken dehumidifier. Forty years of tools in the basement. A garage where the car hasn't fit in a long time.
Our estate cleanout service is built for that. The family pulls out what matters first. Then we clear the rest, room by room, so the house can be sold, rented or handed to the next person. If you live out of state, you don't have to be here for it. Usable furniture and housewares are set aside for donation.
Attic, Garage and Storage Cleanouts
Cottages that were finished off a room at a time usually have odd storage. A half-height attic reached by a pull-down ladder. A loft over the garage. A lean-to off the back. We do attic junk removal in spaces where you can't stand up straight, and we bring the boxes down so you're not the one on the ladder.
Garages are the bigger job. Spattered shelving, a dead snow blower, bikes with flat tires, the old storm windows, bags of who knows what. If you want the car back inside before winter, our garage cleanout crew can empty the whole thing or just the half you can't face.
Appliances, Exercise Equipment and Heavy Single Items
Not every job is a cleanout. Sometimes it's one thing that's too heavy to move. A treadmill in the basement. A home gym bolted together in a spare room. We offer treadmill and exercise equipment removal, and if the machine has to come apart to clear the stairs, that's on us.
Appliances are no different. Fridges, chest freezers, washers, dryers, ranges, dishwashers and water heaters all go. So do hot tubs, above-ground pools, playsets and trampolines out in the yard.
Rural Lots, Lake Roads and Access in Salem Lakes
Properties here come in two kinds. Tight lake lots where the houses sit close and the road is barely two cars wide. And open country lots with a long drive and a barn out back. Both work. Just tell us which one you are.
On lake roads, we park where we can and carry. On acreage, let us know about gates, soft ground and which building the load is in. Big lots also mean brush. After a storm, our storm limb and brush pickup can clear the downed branches along with whatever else you've got.
Hours are Monday through Saturday, 7am to 7pm, with Sunday by appointment. Same-day and next-day slots are often open.
Sorting, Recycling and the No-Go List for Salem Lakes Pickups
After we leave your driveway, the load gets sorted. Usable items are donated. Metal is recycled as scrap. Electronics go to an electronics recycler, because Wisconsin doesn't allow them in landfills. The rest ends up at a licensed transfer station.
Here's what has to stay behind:
- Wet paint and solvents
- Motor oil or gasoline in any container
- Propane tanks
- Asbestos
- Ammunition
- Medical waste
