Tight Roads and Steep Lots: How Tower Lakes Junk Pickup Works
This isn't a town of wide streets and flat driveways. The roads bend around the water and climb the hills, and many driveways are short, steep or shared. Some houses sit below the road with steps down to the door. Some sit above it.
None of that stops a pickup. It just means we plan the parking. Tell us where a truck can sit without blocking the road, and the crew does the rest on foot. They carry each piece from where it is to the truck. Up the steps, around the side, across the yard.
Start by texting a photo to (224) 944-8652. You get a single flat price. Pick a slot Monday through Saturday, 7am to 7pm, or ask about a Sunday appointment. Same-day and next-day slots are often there.
Cottage Cleanouts in Tower Lakes: Attics, Crawl Spaces and Sheds
A cottage that turned into a year-round house has storage in strange places. A knee-wall attic you reach through a small door. A crawl space under an addition. A shed down by the water. A one-car garage dug into the hill.
Each holds its own kind of junk. Clearing an attic turns up boxes, lamps and old bedding. The shed has a cracked cooler, faded life jackets and rusted chairs. The garage has everything else. A small garage cleanout doesn't use much truck space, and the price reflects that.
- Folding chairs, coolers and worn-out dock furniture
- Old bed frames and bedding from the spare room
- Rusted grills, fire pits and patio umbrellas
- Bikes, sleds and garage shelving
Mattress, Sofa and Appliance Removal in Tower Lakes
Old doorways are narrow. Old stairs turn sharply. A queen box spring that went up years ago may not look like it'll ever come back down. That's ours to figure out.
We do mattress pickup for one bed or a houseful. Sofa and furniture hauling covers the sleeper sofa on the porch and the dresser upstairs.
And when the fridge or the washer gives out, appliance removal gets the old one out so the new one can come in. Fridges and freezers have their refrigerant recovered before the metal is scrapped.
Storm Limb and Yard Waste Pickup in Tower Lakes
The village is wooded, and trees on a slope drop limbs onto roofs, decks and driveways. After a storm there's brush everywhere and nowhere flat to stack it. Storm debris and brush hauling takes it away. Illinois keeps yard waste out of landfills, which is why it can't go in the regular trash.
Leave the limbs where they landed if moving them is a chore. The crew will carry them up or down the hill to the truck. We haul what's on the ground. We don't cut down standing trees.
Emptying a Tower Lakes Cottage Before a Sale
When a cottage has been in one family for a long time, selling it means emptying it first. Beds in every corner, a porch full of wicker, kitchen cupboards nobody has opened in years. We can take the whole house as one job.
Pull out the photos and the keepsakes, then tell us the rest can go. If you're managing it from somewhere else, we'll do the free on-site look with whoever holds the key and text you the price. Nothing gets touched until you approve it.
Tower Lakes Junk Removal Prices
The price follows the truck. Fill a quarter of it and you pay the quarter price. Half, three-quarters and full work the same way. Loading, labor, sweep-up and disposal come with it.
A long carry up a hillside doesn't change the price. Neither do stairs or weight, and there's no hourly rate or fuel surcharge. Tower Lakes is in Lake County, so there's no extra charge for distance from Waukegan either. How we price a load has more.
Quotes are free, and most are done from a photo. For a whole cottage, we'll come out for a free look that takes about 15 minutes. You agree to the number first, every time.
What Can't Come With Us
Old cottages have old cans in the corners. Wet paint, solvents, motor oil, gasoline and propane tanks have to stay put. Asbestos, ammunition and medical waste are out too. For paint, oil and chemicals, use the household chemical waste collection that SWALCO, the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County, runs for county residents.
And a reminder of what we aren't. We don't rent dumpsters, demolish buildings, move households or clean.
Sorting a Tower Lakes Load After Pickup
We sort what we haul. Usable items go to donation. Anything metal is recycled as scrap. TVs and other electronics go to an electronics recycler, since Illinois won't allow them in a landfill. The rest ends up at a licensed transfer station.
We cover the towns around you too, with junk pickup in Wauconda to the north and hauling in North Barrington to the south.
